Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a painting take?

From start to finish, I typically complete a painting in two weeks. However, I suggest getting in touch six weeks before you’d like the painting. While I may complete it faster than six weeks, early discussions make it more likely that I’ll have the time available. This is especially important over christmas, as I receive more enquiries.

How much does it cost?

I typically quote between £200 - 250, plus postage. Prices can vary depending on your budget and what you’re looking for. Find out more on my ‘Commissions’ page.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes. Once we’ve collectively agreed on the cost of your piece, which reference image I’ll use and timescales for completion I’ll ask for a non-refundable 50% deposit before starting the piece.

How can I pay?

I accept bank transfer, including via Monzo, or via PayPal.

Do you frame the art?

I don’t currently provide a framing service. This helps keeps the cost of postage lower.

If you own a frame already that you’d like to use, we can agree on a painting size that would fit.

What size are your paintings? How does this correlate to cost?

Most pieces are either:

  • 8.27” x 11.69” (210 x 297mm / A4) - From £200

  • 16” x 12” (405 x 305mm) - From £245

If you have a different size in mind I can usually accommodate.

Do you only paint cats and dogs?

Not at all! While they are most commonly requested, I really enjoying painting diverse and different animals. I’ve previously painted lizards, elephants, giraffes, owls and tigers. I’m very happy to respond to enquiries for all species and breeds.

What paints/mediums do you use?

I use acrylic paints and often incorporate some coloured pencils for additional fine details. I paint on high quality canvas paper, typically Winsor & Newton 300gsm Acid Free sheets. I can protect your piece in a gloss varnish, on request.
